In a surprising and unexpected development, Infinity Ward added Tamagotchi-style virtual pets to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Yes, really. In Modern Warfare, they're called Tomogunchi pets, and you can equip them to your watch to see their cute smiling faces while you murder enemies.
