If we were to ask you the most unique combat feature of Red Dead Redemption, you’d be hard-pressed to name anything other than the deadeye system. First introduced in Red Dead Revolver, the system has become a series staple. Today we’ll be breaking it down to show you how it works and what it does on different levels.

Dead Eye will lighten up dark areas. It will also reload the currently equipped weapon, it helps shorten reload time.

Before you use an incredibly strong ability, you need to know how to build it up so check out these tips and tricks on how to use deadeye in Red Dead Redemption 2.

The new and improved dead eye system in RDR2 has two additional levels. Levels 1 to 3 is basically the same. Level 4 allows you to mark vital organs of your enemies that you can shoot for extra damage and enable quick takedowns.

The level 5 system hasn’t been revealed yet. We speculate that it may auto-fire at the vital organs of marked enemies but it’s still all up in the air.
