While I was working on a review for Metroid II: Return of Samus, but then Nintendo announced Metroid Samus Returns. I got my copy early and have been playing with it, and I...I ascended. This game is crazy to complete. Speedruns, multiple playthroughs, and difficulty settings, this game is a serious (but fun) undertaking for completionists.
My biggest fear with this game was wondering if it would capture the platformer fun and complexity of the earlier Metroid games. But with Mercurystream heading the project, they have a knack for hidden gems and solid gameplay.
