I'm joined by special guest Matthew Mannheimer from TailsChannel to dive into Sonic Mania. We got a classic, near offical fan-made, Sonic game from PagodaWest Games and SEGA. After so many Sonic flops, this addition blows all expectations. Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles travel through various worlds and nostalgic callbacks in order to fight Dr. Eggman/Robotnik and his new robos: The Hard-Boiled Heavies. Instead of playing it on the Nintendo Switch, we got our advance copy for PS4, so let's see how Sonic Mania holds up!
What stands out most to me about Sonic Mania is the visual additions to each classic level. Everything is expanded upon and it really makes the whole Sonic world seem, bigger. From background updates to updated music themes, it's by far one of the best Sonic game to come out in recent years. This game is what happens when a team of passionate creators come together and build off everything that made Sonic with respect and care to the soul of the game. And that's my Sonic Mania review.
